Our schedule consists of a relaxing morning, then we will play tug-o-war at 11:00 (we'll probably win), then we will eat lunch, and at around 12:30 we will begin the outdoor rotations. If you are thinking of coming, the outdoor rotations are where the serious fun takes place!
We had a long discussion in class today about what the kiddos needed for field day, and I gave them a sticky note to put the list on.....but just in case they forget:
- A full set of extra clothes (including underwear) some of the rotations have water elements, and they will get wet.
- Kids can wear crocs or water shoes for the rotations if they would like (please no flip flops) so they do not get their good tennis shoes wet or dirty. If you do not have crocs, no worries, and old pair of shoes that you don't mind getting messy will do just fine. However, it will help if they are easy to get on and off as they will have to remove their shoes for the inflatible rotations, and I am sure they don't want to waste a lot of time in trasition.
- We will be eating lunch in the room, so if possible send a lunch from home. The lunch room will not be serving hot lunch tomorrow. They will have sack lunches availiable for kids who forget their lunch or for those who were unable to bring one.
- Be sure to send your student with some type of water bottle. It will be hot outside, and we don't want them to be dehydrated. There will be jug coolers outside for them to refill their water bottles as needed.
- If you would like, you may send in a treat for the class. This is one of the few days a year we can give them sweets. If you do send something though, please send enough for the whole class. There are 22 in each class.
- Field Day shirts were sent home today. Please don't let your kids write on them or cut the sides until AFTER tomorrow.
